Who We Are
Beacon Unitarian Church is an inclusive, open-minded spiritual community serving New Westminster, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Metro Vancouver. Rooted in the liberal religious tradition of Unitarian Universalism—where compassion, diversity, and democratic community guide us—we welcome theists, atheists, agnostics, and people of all faith paths, identities, and life stories.
Our Approach to Spirituality
We explore life’s big questions with curiosity, integrity, and respect. Our services and programs draw from many religious and philosophical sources — including humanism, science, world religions, nature-based spirituality, poetry, music, and lived experience. We seek wisdom, not certainty; meaning, not dogma.
Sunday Services
Each Sunday (Sept.–June) we gather for reflection, music, meditation, and thoughtful messages that speak to real life. Services are followed by friendly and informal coffee time — a chance to meet others, ask questions, and feel at home.
Programs for Adults and Seniors
Beacon offers a variety of small groups, learning circles, spiritual exploration programs, and social gatherings. Whether you’re seeking community, reflection, lively discussion, or friendship, there’s a place for you.
Life’s Milestones
Our lay chaplains are honoured to support individuals and families through some of life’s most meaningful moments. We offer personalized, inclusive:
• Weddings
• Memorials & Celebrations of Life
• Child dedications
• Other rites of passage
Commitment to Justice and Compassion
We work toward a more just, equitable, and compassionate world. Our congregation supports initiatives related to social justice, environmental stewardship, reconciliation, and human rights.
